  • How does it work?

    Think of us as Dropbox for your physical stuff.

    Simply sign up for an account online and schedule a free drop-off. The HaulBox moving team will arrive at your home on the scheduled day to drop-off our durable plastic boxes. We can wait 10-20 minutes while you pack your stuff or come back another day after you schedule a pick-up. Our moving team will then help secure your boxes and transport them straight to our climate controlled secure storage facility.

    When you need something back, sign into your online account and select precisely which boxes you need returned. We'll bring your things back on the date and time of your choosing!

  • Where are the HaulBox services available?

    Our services are currently available in Gainesville, Florida within a 5 mile radius of the University of Florida. We are working with storage operators around the country to expand rapidly, so please register and we will tell you when we’ve reached your area!

  • Does HaulBox offer storage for the University of Florida Students?

    Yes, in fact HaulBox has partnered with the UF Housing & Residence Education to offer the HaulBox service to its residents. That makes HaulBox the perfect place for all UF student summer storage.

  • What are your operating hours?

    Our delivery time slots are open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, except on public holidays. During the peak season we often extend delivery hours to accommodate the surge in demand.

  • How does the online view of stored items work?

    Using the our website: Once the boxes are dropped off at your location they will automatically show up on your online account. You can access each box and attach pictures you took of the content of those boxes. You can also write a description of the items in each box. That way when we collect your boxes for storage you know which box contains which items.

    Using our mobile application: Once boxes are dropped off at your location, you can press on the “document content” feature and press on add a box. A barcode scanner will appear on your screen. Simply scan the barcode on the box, give that box a name, and start taking pictures of the items in it. The process is very easy and fun!

    Once you need something from storage, you can go ahead and press on your “Digital Closet”, view which box contains the items you want, and retrieve any boxes you select.

  • Tell me about your Boxes

    Our boxes are made from business-grade polypropylene plastic making them strong and water resistant. They stack inside of each other when they are empty and stack on top of each other when they are full. That substantially lowers their footprint. Boxes are cleaned thoroughly before being sent to you.

PACKING

  • What sizes are your boxes?

    The measurements of the box are 27 in. long, 17 in. wide and 12 in. high or about 2.5 cubic ft. Please see our GIF on the home page that illustrates how many items can be placed in the box. We kindly ask that you limit the weight of each box to 35 pounds otherwise overweight charges will apply.

  • What can and can't I store?

    Here some common sense can go a long way. You can store your personal items such as clothes, books etc with the exception of TVs and mirrors. However, you can not store anything that is illegal, flammable, or anything that could go bad like food, even though you plan to retrieve your items before the expiry date.

    Although we handle all the boxes with care, some movement is going to happen given the nature of moving items. For that reason we suggest not to store any fragile items or electronics inside the boxes.

  • Is there a weight limit on the boxes?

    The HaulBox team moves a staggering amount of boxes up and down many flights of stairs; therefore we kindly ask that you that you limit every box to a maximum of 35 pounds. Try spreading heavier items between your other boxes and mixing them with lighter items. Additional “overweight fee” of $10 will apply for each box over the 35 pound limit.

  • Can I use my own boxes?

    HaulBox operates on the uniform box sizes for storage and retrieval purposes. We understand that you may have items packed in your own boxes already. In order to run smoothly and to better serve you, we ask that you use our boxes.
    If you still want to use your own boxes they will count as a non box item and depending on their size and weight they will either count as a small or a large item and will be priced accordingly.

    If you think that boxes with different sizes would better serve customers like you, please let us know. We love customer feedback and are constantly seeking ways to improve our service.

  • Is packing a service HaulBox offers

    Our mission is to make storage as easy as possible, but unfortunately we cannot pack boxes on your behalf.

  • Do I need to have my items packed before HaulBox drops off the empty boxes?

    After you receive your boxes, you can keep them for a week until they’re packed. This gives you enough time to scan your boxes into your account and document and take photos of the contents of each box.

    Alternatively, the HaulBox moving team can wait for up to 20 minutes and then pick up the packed boxes in one go. We recommend that you have your storage items set aside and organised so that you can load them quickly and smoothly into the boxes.

  • Will you wait while I pack / unpack my boxes?

    Yes! The HaulBox moving team will sit tight for up to 20 minutes while you pack your boxes. Unfortunately, our tight pickup and delivery schedule does not allow us to wait more than the designated 20 minutes while you unpack and kindly ask you to have your items for storage organised beforehand so that you can pack them quickly.

PICKUP & DELIVERY

  • Can I cancel or change a drop-off/ pick-up / retrieval?

    If circumstances force you to reschedule your appointment, you may do so on the website with a minimum of 24 hour notice. If changes need to be made with less than a 24 hour notice a change/cancellation fee will apply.

  • What if I need to cancel after I've already received the empty boxes for packing?

    We understand that plans may change. If that you wish to cancel please let us know by calling or emailing us and we will arrange for a pick up of the empty boxes. A one time delivery fee will be charged to your account. Delivery fee is $10 for the first box and $2 for each box thereafter.

  • Can I rent your boxes without storing them?

    Yes you can, the same storage fee still applies of $12 per box per month. However, if you wish to rent them you need to make an arrangement with a HaulBox representative. Please email us to arrange that.

  • How much advanced notice do you need for delivery?

    All our reservations need to be made through the website with a minimum of 24 hours before the time of the appointment.

    For rare emergency situations, you may contact our customer support team at hello@haulbox.com and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Please note, a surcharge may apply.

  • How do I get my stuff back?

    Easy! Log into your account with your computer or smartphone. Click on retrieve my items from storage. Select which items you want back then set a date and time. After completing these steps successfully you will receive an email confirmation of your appointment.

  • May I ship my boxes to another region or country?

    Yes, if you wish to have your boxes shipped please send us an email and we will contact you to arrange for your shipment.

  • How do I schedule a pickup?

    Simply log in to your account, choose the boxes that you want to have picked up, submit the time and date and you are done. After completing these steps successfully you will receive an email confirmation of your appointment.

  • Can I have my boxes returned to a different address?

    Yes you can! As long as the new address is in the area we service. Please make sure to edit your address on your profile before you make the retrieval request.

  • Will your driver bring boxes down from and up to my apartment?

    The goal here is your convenience. Our drivers will help you bring items down or take them up if you need assistance. However, please be mindful of the weight limit on each box/item.

    If your apartment or on campus residence has an elevator, we kindly ask that you secure access to help the HaulBox reps transport empty or packed boxes to your room.

PRICING & BILLING

  • How much will it cost me?

    Pricing is simple, each box is $12 a month to store. Any items that are not our box and weighs less than 25 pounds counts as a small item which is $15 per month. Items that are over over 25 pounds count as large items and are $20 per month to store.
    The initial drop off of the empty boxes is free
    The initial pickup up of the packed items is also free
    The first retrieval of your items is also free
    95% percent of our clients will never pay for delivery. The only case you would pay for delivery is if you require more than these three basic deliveries. For example if you retrieve half your items now and the rest on another day. You will pay for that second retrieval trip. The retrieval fee is always $10 for the first box/item then $2 for each box/item thereafter.

  • May I store my things for less than 1 month? Do you Pro rate

    You can store your items for any period of time you wish. However unfortunately we do not pro rate. That means you will have to pay a minimum of 1 month in storage.

  • What if I don't know how many boxes I need? Do I pay for those I don't use?

    You do not. We encourage people to order one or two more boxes than they think they would need. You will only end up paying for the boxes you use. What you don’t want is to order less then have to pay a delivery fee in order to have the HaulBox crew drop off some more boxes at a later time.

  • How does billing work?

    You will be charged only after the HaulBox crew picks up your packed items. That way you never pay for the packing period and we know exactly what you ended up storing.

  • How do I update my billing or contact information?

    Please refer to the profile tab on the website or mobile application.

Security

  • Where are my boxes stored?

    Boxes are stored at our secure local facility. This facility is climate controlled and locked during the evening hours. Our storage area is locked at all times and only accessible by HaulBox agents.

  • Can I retrieve my boxes myself?

    Because we want to maintain the security of all our customers, we only allow HaulBox agents to retrieve boxes.

  • Can anyone open my box and view my stuff?

    No. We understand privacy and never open a single box. Your box is opened by YOU when delivered for retrieval.

  • Are my things insured against damage?

    Yes, every item stored with HaulBox has a limited insurance up to $50 per box or item. However if you need extra insurance on your items you can order the premium insurance option when submitting your order. Premium insurance is an extra $2 per box or item and in case of a claim it increases the insurance value to up to $100 per box or item. Be mindful that all claims should be submitted within one week of the drop off of the items to be eligible for a refund or compensation.

  • Can HaulBox view my inventory when I list it online or on the app?

    HaulBox will not have access to your inventory list. Your inventory list is viewable to only you and encrypted for extra security.
